      • Am a half Marathi married to a Tamilian at aged 40, I wore a langa voni made of Paithani, for my reception a Dhakai worn Bengali style, my other half identity. It was loved by all. One can wear whatever at one’s own wedding.

  1. That second picture is beautifully composed- with its perfect balance of new and traditional elements.
Truly captures the essence of the modern Indian wedding.

  2. absolutely love this wedding for daring to break the flash-flashier-flashiest mould. at a time when the wealthiest tastemakers in the country are all about in-your-face ostentation, this subtle, beautiful wedding underlines what it’s really all about.
also — all hail the return of the minimalist sabya! brings to mind some of his first, mindblowing, era-defining showings at LFW.

  4. This post made me genuinely happy
Sditi looks like a doll. No an angel.
Don’t know what vani is, she is dressed like her usual elegant self.
The henna tatto is absolutely beautiful!
Love and respect the fact that they keep it personal and intimate.
    Wish them all the best!

  5. They look adorable and such beautiful and tasteful clothes that look like what regular people would wear. The Sarees of the ladies in the second pic are gorgeous. Lovely to see Leela Samson as well.

  6. I dont know much about the actors, but my god, this wedding is the epitome of good taste in my humble opinion, especially after the circus that dominated social media the past few months. Apart from their outfits, what I love is the presence of her guru Leela Samson. The fact that they included people and a place that have such a profound personal impact is what touches me the most.
Back to the fashion, this harks back to pre-Bollywood days, when individual style took precedence- the beautiful textiles, the heritage jewellery, the utterly exquisite alta .. just wonderful. I can only think of the Kareena Kapoor/ Soha Ali Khan weddings which had this level of quiet luxury, and of late, Sobhita’s engagement.
