In Manish Malhotra

Comment image 22

At the trailer launch of PS2, Aishwarya was seen in a pink anarkali by Manish Malhotra. Given that we are not given any variety when it comes to her hairdo these days, I think I prefer her in a sleek do vs this wavy one.

Someone snap Ms. Rai and Ms. Pednekar out of this phase that they seem to be stuck in.

  1. She’s always Diwali/ wedding ready . If she wants to wear anarkalis all the time can atleast try prints , cottons, understated non embroidered to the hilt.

    • She does wear them but not to public events. I saw this photo pop up on my feed from some art fair where she was wearing a regular block print kurta with a side saddle bag – but you could see just half of her.
I think that her PR team has told her that people want to see her a certain way so she sticks to a formula. That said, I did like her in this pink anarkali and the black tones ghararas/shararas that she wore to NMAAC.

  2. Ponniyin Selvan is one of the greatest literary works of Tamil literature. Wouldn’t it be nice to wear a traditional weave to this ? Nothing in character, just a nice Tamil kanchipuram silk with a temple border maybe ? The loyalty to chammak challo lehengas with sequins and too much embroidery just boggles my mind at this point.

  3. It’s not “stuck in a phase”. It’s her style. Periode.
We can disagree from now on to the doomsday. But this is how it is.

    Lovely color.

  4. This anarkali is so dated that it could be two decades old.

She has changed up the hair, but not for the good.

I have come to stop expecting anything from her anymore fashion wise.

  5. Weddings, trailer launch, Birthday/Diwaali parties, NMAAC opening — the same hair, same big silhouette, sequins/zari/gota shiny heavy work, heavy duty jewellery. Its not just that its not pretty anymore. Its been loud and boring all along.

  6. Aishwarya is going the Rekha route. It’s easier in some ways to have a signature style instead of the variety the world expects for its amusement. So get ready for a lot of volume – hair and clothes!

  7. Even though the changes are subtle – wavy hair, pink lip instead of red, a more flattering anarkali – she still looks better than she has in forever! I hope she keeps improving!

    • Having now seen the PS1 and PS2 trailers where there are plenty of shots with different hairstyles and not wearing an anarkali (although I didn’t notice what she was wearing – I was too mesmerized by her face!) – I really don’t get why she can’t give us those same styles/looks in real life?!

  9. It must hurt to keep your finger in that angle (2nd picture) and I have seen her pose like that before. Ok let me take a step back- I totally get it that its a lot of pressure for someone who is considered ever-beautiful to always meet the judgement parameter. I get it- its hard to please people- shes almost 50 and she cant always be perfect like youth permitted her to. We all get that. But- BUT- she has been so utterly carless about her clothes and fashion sense – like she is still stuck in the 90s that those who respect and like her, are waiting for her to wake up and perhaps read the comments and start making a small change – somewhere… even if it is to put a bobby pin in her hair. (Ok Aishwarya, please dont take that seriously and wear one).

Also, lets not try to redeem her by saying the Pink is nice on her, these heavy anarkalis she always wears whether with salwars or garara/ sharara or pichwas style are ALL beyond redemption. How can she not know that? (Also does Manish M. give her rejected clothes= and I read this comment earlier somewhere too- I kind of think it must be true). The weather, the Year, the occasion- nothing warrants this 1990’s anarkali (of “Aur Pyar ho Gaya days”).

Now to be gentle and very direct : Aishwarya needs to: 1. Simpler clothes – Turn to sarees for a while (a soft silk saree would have been good on both Trisha and her here). 2. When not attention a wedding like function- stick to summer fabrics- its Summer in India- Mumbai and TN for god sake. 3. comment 2 does not mean that you take out your 767th black tights from your airport look and wear it to an event next time- stay away from black 4. Wear lighter lipcolors (she has taken peoples advice on this lately) and finally 5. Make a hair-bun. (Baaki sab maauf hai. chahe bata ki chappal hi kyu na pehne le, par please is mughal-e azam outfit style ko break de).

  10. How ? Just how does she end up wearing bad clothes every single time ? Does she handpick them ? Does she not have a good stylist ? Or no stylist ? Everyone in her immediate circle are decently turned out most of the times – mother , mom in law , sister in law , niece . No one ever tells her anything ? Please Aishwarya , just give us some basic looks atleast – a non blingy non tenty outfit , hair in a bun , muse lips . That’s all we want .

  11. On way to aging gracefully she has become an Ash Anarkali doll a caricature of herself frozen in time. This is not a great approach we all age even if we freeze our style time is till passing……

  12. It has been silently decided not to expect anything from her in terms of fashion.. But what’s with this silly hair like alllllll the timeeee ??? I would have been a little more content atleast if that was a good hairstyle .. this looks plain horrendous. Anyhoo, she doesn’t look like she’s gonna switch this anytime soon.. so let’s hold our breaths

    Enough already.

  14. How about we all (those who truly care about her) message her via her insta account and request her to please either sack her stylist or if she does not have one, hire a good one and change the style, take a break from the middle parting of the hair and demand that WE NEED CHANGE!! 🙂 Aaii yaiii yo!!!!
