This is such a filmy outfit to wear to a wedding, and yes, I mean filmy = dramatic, loud, even OTT… and the irony is that this outfit isn’t even so OTT—it feels muted and mellow in comparison to some others, and the fact this kind of clothing has become absolutely de rigueur blows my mind…. I mean, these are individuals from the film industry and it is clear that “filmdom” is in their minds as well… for who’d dress like this for a wedding? This isn’t a performance… but everyone here is absolutely performing… or so it feels.
