In Twos
Janvhi attended the Haldi ceremony on Monday wearing a yellow sari from Manish Malhotra and then the Shiv Puja on Wednesday in an ornate lehenga from Anamika Khanna. The color of the sari was nice and I liked that she kept it simple. She looked nice but it just felt same ole same old.
The lehenga was absolutely delish but that very low neckline just unnecessary. It’s almost like the dictat goes out with every sourcing request that neckline has to be 10+ inches deep.

As someone said, this wedding has lasted longer than some marriages do. Even the guests look fatigued now.
lol good one. Wish we could have seen some traditional weaves 🙁
Unlikely. It’s all about showcasing the designers Reliance Retail will promote/ already backs.
Also how is that lehenga any event appropriate for a shiv puja. I am so lost these days, showing off body, clothes and jewelry has become the sole goal for any event and essence of the puja/deity/event is totally disregarded
It’s utterly ridiculous!! There are absurd justification comments also about why Women must dress like this
Facepalm
I’m as much a feminist as you are but there is something called event appropriateness and that is the gist of the OPs message
I am agreeing with the OP!!!
Jhanvi looks absurd and vulgar times 100
I don’t know what you are talking about
@Kohl, apologies I misunderstood your post. I reread it and I get it. We are all on the same page
The awful low neckline done to death by Jhanvi looks severely vulgar and tacky. I dont know if she’d ever or the designer/ stylist ever realize it though.
It’s true. She is the Mamta Kulkarni of our time. For all the criticism she faces, I can’t imagine anything looking tasteful, non-filmy on the poor girl. Everything gets reduced to a gimmicky, siren costume. Sigh.
She’d actually look nice if she moved away from this crappy kim kardashian way of dressing, There was a phase when she was in ethereal cottons and lovely linens, and she looked so beautiful and young even when sporting the simplest of kurtis. But after the miniscule phase she went back to this over tight skimpy blingy awfulness
Find the lehenga too busy and the blouse too small. Actually like the simple yellow sari, she looks nice!
This wedding is such a sensory overload. We need a palate cleanser. Payal, please give us a Konkona , Waheeda ji or Nandita Das.
Why do BW men never dress vulgar?
What sort of equality this is?
Do guests have to dress up for each and every event? Even a small and homely thing like Shiv Puja (never heard of that in context of wedding though)…it’s so tiring even thing of it!
I mean…. After the 50th event, everybody starts looking same old, same old.
I don’t like that Lehenga or AK “so called” fashion. It’s so dated and over the top.
Besides it’s becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate bride from guests and functions from each other.
My interest in this wedding is now limited to the jewellery.
Her looks are so obvious by now, shiny, bronze tacky heavy make up, tight, boob shot loud outfits. She needs a style reinventing because the novelty is fast losing.
Though the lehenga looks similar to Sarah’s the finishing touches of Sara elevated the look.
Jahnvi should have optedf or a different hair style, this is too tight and formal. The dupatta should have been worn in different way than using the waist band, as doing that way makes the whole look traditional while the lahenga doesn’t have the traditional vibe to it. Also jewelry with purple stones predominantly would have given nice contrast to the multi color dupatta.
For the yellow saree, hair tied into wavy plated hair or bun would have given it a different look.
I liked what Swati Piramal was wearing.. I hope you can feature her .. very OTT but still lovely.
