In Neeru’s

Karisma attended the launch of a foundation in Hyderabad last week wearing a white anarkali-inspired long dress from Neeru’s. The turquoise beads in the jhumkis and the bindi made for a nice addition of color to the all-white anarkali. She looked nice.

  1. Lovely Anarkali but the color mildly washes her out a bit, maybe a bit more blush or a brighter lip would have made this work more? But I love her style and think this is overall a good pick.

    • Again, the always elegant Ms Karisma Kapoor.

Why is a dress with a belt or shawl and long sleeves common to all cultures west to east since stitched clothing came into play called an “anarkali”. Is there a back story there?

      • Dress is an English term. Every language has specific terms for attire of clothing. Like a sari/lehenga/abaya/kimono/cheongsam. List is endless.

  2. my heart aches when people calls any simple indian garment with gathered or circle skirt as ‘anarkali’ there are no kalis in this dress. Out of everyone, HHC should know more, Beautiful dress though..
