Day 3: Surily Goel

Surily Goel’s collection was dominated by deep reds, whites, creams and pale, pale blues, all accented by mother-of-pearl embellishments!

Some of the prints that she used were really interesting like the one on the deep red dress which was a floral print without being garish! And I thought using mother-of-pearl accents on those cream pleated dresses and pale blue dresses, especially when using them as an accent on the neckline or on the hemline was just a great idea!

The collection could have easily gotten repetitive but it didn’t! I quite liked it. The clothes were all very wearable and had the easy balance of the ‘bohemian’ and the very, updated, clean look of now!

Day 3: Grassroot by Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre’s Grassroots is apparantly a complete line of ecofriendly clothes. The collection had an extremely easy, casual-chic vibe, perfect for daywear! The tunics and dresses had dominant flower motifs, which while staying central to the theme, did not thankfully overpower the clothes…

I loved the teeming of the tunics with the capris and those simple day dresses in white with floral prints were just so youthful! And those jackets? Absolutely worked.

Day 3: Gauri And Nainika

Gauri And Nainika’s collection was called ‘A Closet Full of Dresses’ and was really quirky and full of bright contrasting colors! The voluminous, balloon dresses had to be the most fun! Almost makes you want to go swing dancing…

The cuts were simple, prints were uncomplicated and the design was no-fuss!

Spotlight: Circa Ceramics

Nothing makes me happier than drinking well made coffee in a cheery mug first thing in the morning and then proceed to properly wake up! And I have had favorite mugs, right since, forever! What can I say, they make me happy!

When I was just looking around today, Circa Ceramics caught my eye. The designers behind Circa Ceramics, Andy Witt & Nancy Pizarro, know exactly how to lace color, fun and pop-culture onto functional pieces! I absolutely adore the pop images of skulls, bikes, hands, typewriters, chairs and more on their bowls, mugs etc!

Just take a look at some of my picks from their collection below. They are super fun!

Day 3: Risa By Abhijeet Khanna

Risa by Abhijeet Khanna, a collection, which was dominated by rich technicolor palette and a play on the flower motifs as well as jazzing up the classic argyle patterns! Some individual pieces worked really well, like, day dresses in deep reds, a dress in olive with metallic sheen to it, a simple dress with little floral detailing and short cropped jackets!

As for the others, not as much. The collection overall wasn’t just as impressive as other contendors had been. It seemed as if the designer got a little carried away with the whole ‘theme’ in its entirety, instead of interpretting it!

Am I being too tough? I think not.
